I was born and raised in a small town of Southern Missouri. I played sports including Football, Basketball, Baseball, and occasionally dabbling in Track and Field. I joined the Navy in 2004 right out of high school where my adventures began. I started CrossFit in 2007 while being stationed at a SEAL Team in Hawaii as a Navy Diver. 3 days a week it was implemented as a part of our Command Physical Training. At the time I was competing in Jiu Jitsu and MMA so I was doing it mainly for supplemental conditioning. I competed in 3 MMA bouts(3-0) before I broke my hand pretty severely and called it quits. I continued with Jiu Jitsu competitions over the next few years competing in several tournaments including The Hawaii Triple Crown taking third, and the Pan Ams in Irvine, Ca. Shortly after that I decided to end my Jiu Jitsu training as a Purple Belt, as CrossFit was taking over all my time. I began to spend more time on my own learning how to properly lift. In the gyms bright and early on base looking in the mirrors and videoing my lifts before the day began (I still have a video from the very first day I began snatching). Heading to my box right after work picking my coaches brain, teaching my co-workers what he taught me. And that’s where I began helping people with their Fitness. In 2014, I got out of the Navy after 10 years of being a Diver, moved to San Diego and have been enjoying it every since. I started school in the Fall of 2015 where I will eventually attempt to learn the ins and outs of Physical Therapy.
